We’re in the Midst of a Pivotal Year for DevOps

Better Software Magazine is an excellent resource for any IT professional involved in development, testing, project management, QA and more. The magazine is a TechWell publication and covers topics such as Agile methodologies, DevOps mobile and cloud. I was recently invited to write The Last Word column in the Spring 2017 Edition.

In this recent column titled, “2017 is a Pivotal Year for DevOps,” I write about the importance of software development and DevOps for today’s digital economy and point out that better customer experiences are driven by better software.

I also discuss reasons why DevOps is becoming more important to the enterprise. One of those big reasons is because it works to bring development closer to the heart of the business. That happens best when DevOps tools offer operational data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to help businesses make better decisions and respond to the market faster.

In the article I point out some trends that are developing now. Here are a few excerpts:
