Great Quote

Here’s a great quote that my wife forwarded me last week….said it reminded her of the folks at Danube…. I am glad that this is what we represent and are building here.

Entrepreneurship is about trial and error and the notion that ideas that may be great in the boardroom simply won’t stick in the real world due to unforeseen consequences or imperfect information.

It also, taken in the context of entrepreneurship reminds me that every single employee at Danube is a champion of Danube and that all of us are working on the same goals with the same pathos, even those of us who are the furthest removed from the “decision making”

“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”- Theodore Roosevelt

“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, the being a force of nature, instead of a selfish, feverish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and it is my privledge to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me, it is a sort of splendid torch which I’ve got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations”
And it may be said that ideas are about workability. What makes ideas stick in the real world may be that that they are ‘workable’ if there is such a word.
